About the Role

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and oversees the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director, this role assumes 24-hour nursing responsibility and works with a unit-specific patient population.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and supervise nursing operations
  • Assume 24-hour nursing responsibility in the absence of the Manager or Director
  • Work with a unit-specific patient population
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one year of nursing experience in the area of specialty
  • Associates Degree with three years' clinical experience or Bachelor's in Nursing with two years' clinical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment or within six months of employment
