Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ICU Nurse Specialist to join our team at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island - UH. As a critical care registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including administering prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Keep all patients under close observation and provide assistance to doctors and other medical personnel as needed.
  • Monitor life support equipment and provide education to patients and their families on how to care for them.
  • Perform pulmonary toileting, draw blood from central and arterial lines, and administer medications as needed.
  • Interpret EKG and telemetry monitoring, and participate in cardiac arrest code teams.
  • Initiate and revise patient care plans based on continuing assessments, and include patient teaching and discharge planning in overall care.
  • Document nursing interventions and patient responses according to hospital policy.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of implementation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in good standing.
  • Evidence of current AHA BLS and ACLS certification, with TNCC preferred.
  • Minimum one year of current ICU hospital experience.
