POSITION SUMMARY
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) plays a vital role within the Nursing Department, ensuring the highest standards of care for surgical patients. This position encompasses both responsibility and accountability for delivering nursing care that adheres to established hospital policies, guidelines, and AORN standards, with a strong emphasis on patient safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage intraoperative patient care through the application of the nursing process, utilizing independent judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate effectively with all team members involved in the surgical process, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff.
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs and specific surgical requirements.
- Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions, making necessary adjustments to care plans in accordance with AORN standards.
- Recognize and respond promptly to any complications or emergencies that may arise during surgical procedures.
- Report directly to the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services, ensuring all care aligns with the mission and values of LifeBridge Health.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program is essential.
- Current CPR certification as an AHA Healthcare Provider.
- Active RN license required.
- Prior experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
