Job Description

Overview:
A skilled and knowledgeable vertical transportation compliance inspector is sought to conduct thorough safety inspections and ensure adherence to regulatory standards for elevator systems in various international settings. This role necessitates collaboration with local elevator service providers and a comprehensive understanding of the safety regulations applicable in the host countries.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with local entities to effectively execute complex vertical transportation inspections and evaluations.
2. Travel internationally to perform routine elevator safety assessments and oversee compliance with established safety regulations and directives.
3. Observe and validate testing of elevator safety mechanisms to confirm alignment with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
4. Conduct final inspections on newly installed or upgraded elevator systems to ensure they meet contractual specifications and safety codes.
5. Generate detailed inspection reports that outline findings, identify compliance issues, and provide actionable recommendations.
6. Offer technical guidance to Facility Managers and other stakeholders regarding inspection and testing protocols.
7. Clearly communicate safety compliance issues to relevant parties to facilitate resolution.
8. Perform comprehensive assessments of vertical transportation equipment and compile detailed reports on condition and performance.
9. Lead the inspection and testing processes in collaboration with facility personnel and local contractors to achieve optimal outcomes.
10. Coordinate inspection schedules with facility staff and manage travel logistics as required.
11. Ensure local maintenance contractors are fully briefed on the scope of work and capable of fulfilling their responsibilities.
12. Maintain accurate records of inspection statistics and assist in the management of relevant databases.
13. Support the review of technical documents and reports prepared by others.
14. Provide training on safety and technical standards as needed.
15. Assist in the presentation of technical findings and proposed solutions to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Extensive professional experience in conducting compliance inspections of vertical transportation systems.
3. Certification as a Qualified Elevator Inspector (ASME QEI-1) from an accredited organization, with ongoing maintenance of credentials.
4. Proven experience in vertical transportation inspection within a major market.
5. Strong initiative and sound judgment.
6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
7. Capability to handle the challenges of global travel and adapt to diverse environments.
8. In-depth knowledge of elevator safety codes and related building regulations.
9. Ability to learn and apply international codes and standards.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Experience Requirement:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a Qualified Elevator Inspector, with demonstrated expertise in vertical transportation inspection.
