Senior Engineering Leader

Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading the Application Platform Engineering team at Raymond James Financial Services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and experience in leading teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in building and evolving the Application Platform
- Collaborate with development teams to identify patterns and strategies for the platform
- Define strategic direction and develop tactical plans for the platform
- Work with application and infrastructure teams to provision platform components
- Translate business requirements into working foundational components for the platform
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering
- 3 years of experience in leading teams
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Experience with designing and implementing high-performance enterprise-scale distributed systems
- Strong grasp of integration patterns and tradeoffs associated with each approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with designing and building frameworks and 'golden paths' that enable rapid development
- API platform engineering fundamentals, including OpenAPI spec, API gateways, and OAuth integration
- Profiling and performance optimization, including threading, memory management, and JVM optimization
Education/Previous Experience Requirements
Minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree and 10 years of related experience or a combination of education, training, and experience as approved by Human Resources.
