Akira Technologies, a leading cloud modernization and data analytics services provider, seeks a seasoned Digital Transformation Engineer to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO). This pivotal role involves implementing cutting-edge business operations workflows, governance structures, and strategic communication initiatives.

This position will play a critical part in fostering effective stakeholder engagement and driving the adoption of innovative digital solutions. Work is predominantly remote with occasional on-site meetings in the DC Metro Area. The role supports the DoD, hence an active security clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and Maintain Jira Workflows: Develop and maintain efficient Jira workflows to streamline business operations in alignment with CDAO objectives.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with stakeholders to identify and address process inefficiencies, ensuring workflows support governance and operational goals.
  • Implement Automation Rules: Utilize Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, or equivalent tools to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency by implementing automation rules and scripts.
  • Integrate Jira with External Tools: Integrate Jira with other Atlassian products and external tools, enabling seamless data exchange and enhanced collaboration.
  • Design Dashboards and Reporting Tools: Create dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time insights into operational metrics and progress toward strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate Communication: Facilitate clear communication of digital transformation efforts through customized tools and platforms.
  • Enforce Governance Standards: Develop and enforce governance standards within Jira and the broader Atlassian ecosystem to ensure consistent application of best practices.
  • Ensure Compliance: Collaborate with the CDAO team to ensure all configurations comply with security, policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise between Teams: Act as a liaison between technical teams, the CDAO, and other stakeholders to align Jira configurations with business needs.
  • Support Cross-Functional Teams: Configure tools to enhance collaboration and drive engagement for cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, configurations, and integrations to support knowledge transfer and auditing.
  • Provide Training and Support: Offer training and technical support to users, ensuring effective use of Jira and associated tools across the organization.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Jira Developer or in a similar role, with deep expertise in configuring Jira Service Desk and the Atlassian suite.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations workflows and governance frameworks, ideally within a government or defense setting.
  • Scripting and Integration: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript) and integrating systems using REST APIs.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevOps: Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and Agile/DevOps methodologies is preferred.
  • Active Secret Clearance: Active Secret clearance or higher.

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000. Akira's compensation reflects various factors, including skills, years of experience, and alignment with market data. The salary estimate provided is based on industry standards and may not reflect actual compensation, which depends on individual circumstances.
