Job Overview

The role of Machine Operator V involves a range of responsibilities focused on maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, utilizing diagnostic tools such as Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 and Siemens S7.
  • Enhance maintenance protocols and machinery performance by analyzing industry benchmarks and integrating best practices.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Conduct preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of machinery and equipment.
  • Interpret technical schematics and documentation for diagnosing and repairing electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Program motor drivers and similar control systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to production personnel in setting up, adjusting, or repairing machinery.
  • Modify machine settings to optimize production processes.
  • Mentor and assist less experienced maintenance personnel in their development.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained safely, adhering to machine guarding and safety protocols.
  • Perform various facility maintenance tasks as needed while complying with all environmental health and safety standards.
  • Improve workplace organization and cleanliness in designated areas, following safety regulations.
  • Develop training materials and conduct root cause analysis to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate schedules for preventive maintenance and other maintenance projects.
  • Support fellow technicians in daily operations.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to meet maintenance objectives.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED, completion of Vocational Training in Maintenance Technology (Electrics/Mechanics/Robotics/PLC or similar), and an Associate's degree in Industrial Mechanics/Electrics or a related field with relevant maintenance training.

Required Experience: A minimum of 4 years in Industrial Maintenance, along with certification in PLC programming and troubleshooting.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Expertise in Hydraulics and Industrial Pneumatic Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Electrical Systems.
  • Proficient in PLC Programming and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to utilize and interpret basic measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Familiarity with Robot programming and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Hydraulic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical systems (440V) and troubleshooting controls.
