Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Lead oversees the daily functions of the Maintenance Department, ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of all production and facility equipment, as well as the maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and enforce safe working practices, ensuring compliance with company and departmental safety standards.
- Supervise the establishment of safety protocols for maintenance tasks, including lock-out/tag-out and confined space procedures.
- Coordinate the scheduling of repairs and enhancements for production and non-production equipment, minimizing downtime.
- Manage department personnel, including performance evaluations, training, and payroll approvals.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure adequate utility resources and effective emergency systems.
- Implement preventative maintenance strategies and modifications for plant equipment, maintaining accurate records of all activities.
- Direct the work of maintenance technicians to ensure high-quality performance.
- Organize and oversee daily maintenance operations for all plant equipment.
- Provide technical guidance on equipment modifications and maintenance project timelines.
- Ensure availability of necessary materials and manpower for maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the layout and installation of plant equipment as needed.
- Oversee contracted service providers when required.

- Strong leadership and coaching abilities to foster a high-performance culture.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient problem-solving skills and conflict management in high-pressure situations.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of mechanical crafts, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including A.C. and D.C. circuits.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
- Five to seven years of relevant maintenance experience is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
