The Speech Language Pathologist PRN plays a vital role in restoring speech, language, and swallowing abilities for patients at Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, treat, and monitor patients within the speech pathology treatment plan, modifying therapy programs and goals as needed.
- Perform thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner, entering charges accurately and staying up-to-date on reimbursement practices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, departmental coworkers, and the medical care team, providing education to patients, family, and staff.
- Supervise students and volunteers, adhering to American Speech Language Hearing Association supervision guidelines.
- Stay current with ongoing education, literature review, and evidence-based practice, imparting knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues.
- Maintain awareness of system goals, aligning personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.
- Must possess excellent social relation skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate aptitude in assigned areas as specified for each clinician.
- Exhibit proven face-to-face synergy and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team, ensuring delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
- Possess proficient computer knowledge, operating multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
- High attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.
