Patient Care Associate

As a Patient Care Associate at Yale New Haven Health, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your duties will include assisting with basic patient care, monitoring and recording vital signs, administering medications as prescribed, and collaborating with the healthcare team to develop care plans. You will also provide emotional support to patients and their families, ensuring a positive and compassionate experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic patient care, including AM and PM care, toileting, peri-care, emptying and rinsing of drainage devices, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Administer medications as prescribed by a licensed nurse.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop care plans that meet the individual needs of patients.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, promoting a positive and compassionate experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
