Job Overview

MetalQuest Unlimited is a leading manufacturer of component parts and assemblies for various industries.

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Setup Operator to join our team, who will be responsible for operating multi-spindle machines, reading blueprints, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of G-code and the ability to make program modifications on the shop floor. Additionally, they will act as a mentor and trainer, sharing knowledge and answering questions from colleagues.

The successful candidate will also perform timely visual inspections of machined parts, complete machine setups, and display high attention to detail and integrity while performing all job functions.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $26-$36 per hour, based on industry standards and location.

Responsibilities
  • Operate multi-spindle lathes, including twin turret/twin spindle and triple turret/twin spindle machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications
  • Understand and apply G-code programming principles
  • Mentor and train colleagues on machining techniques and best practices
  • Perform detailed visual inspections of machined parts
  • Complete machine setups for new and existing parts
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • CNC Machining Certificate or 1-2 years of experience preferred
  • Understanding of basic machining principles and mathematical formulas
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and quality documents
