Position Summary:

A reputable producer of structural elements is seeking a skilled MIG welder to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for MIG welding across various departments. Your primary task will involve joining metal components to create or mend products based on layouts, blueprints, or work orders, utilizing a range of welding techniques including MIG, flux core, and sub arc welding. The organization supports AWS certifications for all in-house welders. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of welding experience.

Work Schedule:

  • 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday 11PM - 7AM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 3:00PM - 11:00PM OR Monday - Thursday 3:00PM - 1:00AM

Compensation:

  • $24.88 to 29.30/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Join or weld metal structural components using arc welding techniques in the production of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures.
  • Execute welding tasks that require minimal planning based on blueprints or other written specifications while determining the sequence of operations.
  • Utilize all safety equipment and adhere to mandatory personal protective safety protocols.
  • Adjust welding machinery to meet specified settings.
  • Maintain and operate production tools and fixtures, as well as all welding equipment, in a safe manner.
  • Complete labor reporting systems, standard shop forms, and interpret blueprints.
  • Perform minor maintenance on welding machines (e.g., tips, liners, gas cups).
  • Utilize labor reporting systems, routing shop forms, and complete move tags.

Qualifications:

  • At least one month of hands-on welding experience in a professional setting.
  • Ability to accurately read a measuring tape.
  • Capability to read and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with colleagues.
  • Aptitude for working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to successfully complete an onsite welding assessment.
  • Willingness to work over ten hours a week in overtime as required by business needs.
