About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Safe Fleet. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and fabricating steel metal components to assemble parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality Aluminum and MIG Steel Welding operations on a standard/repetitive line of steel products as well as custom/non-standard products following prescribed procedures.
  • Place, fit, and arrange appropriate parts in proper positions on welding fixtures to ensure correct dimension tolerance.
  • Adjust and regulate welding equipment to obtain best possible penetration, fill, weld quality, performance, and appearance of products within prescribed standards.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspection on all work completed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to read standard and metric rulers.
  • Must have the ability to read tape measure, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends.
Qualifications:
  • Manual dexterity.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required with Vocational Training and/or Technical Education a plus.
  • Two or more years of experience in Steel Welding preferred.
Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (weather/non-weather).
  • Steel toe shoes are required for this position.
