Caregiver Supervisor

The Shift Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care and services at Oaks Senior Living. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively supervise caregiver staff, provide personalized care, and uphold the residence philosophy and resident well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise caregiver staff during their shift, ensuring the provision of quality resident care and adherence to Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures.
- Assist with scheduled medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Oaks Senior Living policy, following the six 'rights' of medication assistance.
- Provide personalized care and services to residents, responding effectively to emergency situations and ensuring the residents' rights to safe, prompt, and confidential treatment.
- Communicate effectively with caregiver staff, residents, and families, attending regular staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Complete 16 hours of continuing education units (CEU) annually and maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with residents in a Senior Living environment.
- Supervisory experience in a healthcare or service industry preferred.
- Required medication training.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Friendly, caring disposition and desire to work with older adults.
- Must be 21 years of age and have a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician and a negative drug screen.
- Must be able to react in an emergency situation.
To fulfill job requirements, the employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods. Employees must adhere to proper body mechanics and safety measures when supporting or transferring residents.
In a typical eight-hour day, the employee will:
- Stand/walk up to eight hours a day.
- Sit up to two hours a day.
- Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds.
12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, 7am-7pm.
