About the Role

As a Master Technician at CarMax, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our vehicles. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and repairing complex issues, and in maintaining the high standards of our reconditioning process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection and Repair: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify and repair any issues, ensuring that our customers receive safe and reliable vehicles.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively with colleagues to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, utilizing your knowledge and expertise to find effective solutions.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality in your work, ensuring that all vehicles meet CarMax's rigorous standards for safety and performance.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive success.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety compliance regulations and procedures.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • ASE Certifications: Possession of ASE certifications in relevant areas, as required by state or local law.
