Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

About this role:
As a Cybersecurity Test Engineer with SAIC, you will be part of the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team in Colorado Springs, CO. Your mission will be to provide an enterprise cybersecurity perspective for identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans, working closely with Government personnel and systems engineers. Key duties include planning and execution of cybersecurity assessments, participating in penetration testing events, developing processes and procedures for conducting cybersecurity vulnerability and penetration assessments, and supporting cross-mission cybersecurity activities.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or cybersecurity with 2+ years of demonstrated experience, along with a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification. A Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance is also required, as well as the ability to obtain a penetration testing certification within 6 months.
- Assist in planning and execution of cybersecurity assessments utilizing DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, DISA SCAP, and other tools
- Participate in penetration testing events on development and sustainment systems, identifying system vulnerabilities, and conducting mitigation and risk analysis
- Develop and implement processes and procedures for conducting cybersecurity vulnerability and penetration assessments, including automation and tool research, development, and training
- Support various other cross-mission cybersecurity activities for space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements of the customer base by identifying and advising in security-related engineering risks, issues, and interdependencies between system elements, contracts, and stakeholders
- Develop, coordinate, and approve PNT/GPS Clinger Cohen Act (CCA) compliance packages and cybersecurity strategies
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or cybersecurity with 2+ years of demonstrated experience
- Possesses and maintains a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance
- Possesses or ability to obtain within 6 months a penetration testing certification
- Understanding of risk analysis and mitigation fundamentals, cybersecurity tool suites, and cybersecurity engineering implementation and processes
