At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Taxation to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing tax reporting and compliance within our network.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and file annual tax returns, including Form 990 and Form 1120, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and state tax codes.
- Manage tax planning initiatives and provide guidance to senior executives.
- Lead internal and external audit inquiries related to tax matters.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax statutes and regulations.
- Develop and implement internal controls over accounting for income taxes.
- Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate handling of payroll tax deductions.
- Manage and mentor staff on tax-related projects and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field with CPA certification.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in tax, with 5 years of leadership experience.
- Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and state tax codes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Oracle PeopleSoft systems experience.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
