Job Title: Senior Chemist - Formulation Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemist to join our R&D team at Tremco Construction Products Group, Inc. as a key member in the development of innovative nail polish formulations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Chemist will be responsible for leading the development of new and improved nail polish formulations, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches. This role requires a strong background in chemistry, laboratory experience, and excellent technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute complex product briefs, creating new and improved nail polish formulations that meet customer requirements and company goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, customers, and suppliers to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct research on assigned technologies and concepts, identifying and evaluating new materials to assess technical performance.
  • Design and conduct studies to assess and understand prototype performance, including stability, efficacy, and safety testing.
  • Monitor stability of products using approved stability protocols and reformulate as needed.
  • Assist with color matching projects and provide technical support to production teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and novel technologies to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support to cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and customer service.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant industry laboratory experience with proven R&D experience in nail polish formulation or nitrocellulose.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical field, such as chemistry or biology.
  • Strong technical color expertise, with color matching ability to quickly distinguish and recognize differences in shades.
  • Excellent laboratory processing techniques and data management skills.
  • Experience with viscosity and rheology preferred.
  • Experience in color cosmetic formulations preferred.
