Reporting Structure:
Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations, and eCommerce.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and flexibility.
  • Promote a welcoming atmosphere by motivating team members to engage with customers, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
  • Maintain high standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, and overall department profitability.

  • Greet customers warmly and strive to remember their names for personalized service.
  • Assist customers by:
    • Guiding them to desired products
    • Retrieving items that are out of reach
    • Helping with heavy items
    • Documenting customer suggestions or requests
    • Enhancing the overall shopping experience.
  • Support management with gross profit analysis and reporting functions.
  • Ensure accurate inventory data for monthly assessments.
  • Utilize product management software to reduce stock shortages and maintain correct item parameters and signage.
  • Verify pricing and signage for advertised, EDLP, and RDA items, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Maintain accuracy of special buys in product management applications.
  • Conduct inventory and pricing checks in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with management on product placement for new items and resets.
  • Manage obsolete and discontinued inventory for prompt sale.
  • Monitor excess inventory and work with management to mitigate.
  • Track and report on damaged or unsaleable items, implementing solutions for reduction.
  • Process replenishment and advertising orders efficiently.
  • Ensure timely updates for price changes and product information.
  • Assist department managers with product management inquiries.
  • Coordinate with DSD vendors, verifying and balancing invoices.
  • Adhere to company hygiene and dress standards.
  • Follow company policies and store guidelines diligently.
  • Punctually report to work as scheduled.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance in other store areas as required.
  • Complete other job-related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to solve practical problems with various variables and limited standardization.
  • Proficient in arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Skilled in interviewing to gather basic information and guiding individuals effectively.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Strong foundational math skills are essential, along with six months to one year of related experience.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Visual acuity to see at varying distances, with or without correction.
  • Capable of performing physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Environment:
This role may involve exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and equipment movement hazards, while working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.

Equipment Utilized:
Windows-based PC, printer, wireless devices, telephone, fax, copier, calculator, internet, product management software, and Microsoft Office applications.

Financial Accountability:
Responsible for company assets, including equipment and merchandise.

Regular interaction with customers, suppliers/vendors, and the general public.

Access to confidential information, including store inventory data, item costs, and profit margins.
