Housekeeping Specialist

The Housekeeping Specialist is a key member of our Facilities team who will help provide a safe and clean environment inside and outside of the Community Center. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility, including cleaning, dusting, mopping, and waxing floors, windows, and fixtures.

• Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain all areas of the facility, including floors, windows, and fixtures.
• Room Preparation: Prepare rooms for activities, including furniture moving, arrangement, and placement of equipment.
• Waste Management: Remove or empty rubbish cans and other refuse, including collection of rubbish on the exterior of the building.
• Grounds Maintenance: Remove snow from sidewalks and salt as needed.
• Additional Duties: Assist in receipt of deliveries, setup of outside rentals, and complete daily Housekeeping Duties check-off list.

• Experience: Excellent experience with room set-ups, cleaning, and general housekeeping duties in an institutional setting, preferably a school setting or house of worship.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated attitude of flexibility and a bright and cheerful disposition.
• Attendance and Punctuality: Punctual and reliable attendance in accordance with schedule.
• Customer Service: Good customer service skills and positive energy.
• Ability to Read and Follow Instructions: Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions and set-ups.
• Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with the team, taking instruction/guidance and offering assistance willingly.
• Independence: Ability to work independently, as needed, to support the group effort.
• Cleaning Knowledge: Strong knowledge of cleaning products and best practices for using products and equipment, such as floor stripping and buffing machinery, vacuums, and sanitizers.
• Physical Demands: Routine walking, standing, bending, carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasional work on ladders, and moving items over fifty pounds utilizing a team lift.
