Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant to become an integral part of our expanding team. In this role, you will provide outstanding care to our patients while collaborating with a skilled group of veterinary professionals. Your contributions will help ensure that our hospital operates smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians during appointments, including preparing patients for surgical procedures and minor interventions.
- Safely and compassionately restrain animals during examinations and treatments.
- Accurately record vital signs, gather medical histories, and communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the veterinarian.
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples, including fecal, urine, and cytology specimens.
- Maintain and care for all medical equipment, ensuring it is ready for daily operations.
- Provide high-quality communication with clients regarding patient updates and inquiries.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Understanding of medical procedures and animal handling techniques.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
