Pediatric Surgeon Faculty Position

SLUCare Physician Group is seeking a pediatric surgeon to join its faculty at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and experience in teaching, research, and clinical affairs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating fetal abnormalities and birth defects, diseases, and injuries in fetuses, premature and newborn infants, children, and adolescents. This includes all pediatric surgical specialties and subspecialties.

As a member of the SLUCare Physician Group, the pediatric surgeon will have the opportunity to work with a team of highly trained healthcare professionals and contribute to the academic mission of SSM Health.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining call coverage by other medical staff members for holidays, vacations, and other time off
  • Maintaining a private office and making clinical decisions within the office
  • Acting as an advisor and consultant in the establishment of operational policies of the practice
  • Participating in community service activities, including speaking engagements, writing, and special clinical programs
  • Working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

The physical requirements of the job include:

  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication
