Position Overview:
In accordance with established protocols, you will carry out routine cleaning tasks to ensure that assigned areas within the healthcare facility are maintained in a clean and sanitary state.
Your responsibilities will include moving furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout various departments while performing a range of both heavy and light cleaning duties.
You will implement a systematic cleaning approach, utilizing dry and wet mops for floor maintenance, stripping and buffing floors, as well as shampooing carpets and addressing stains on various surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive cleaning assignments and gather necessary materials and supplies, including mops, buckets, electric buffers, vacuum cleaners, rags, and disinfectants from designated storage areas.
Conduct thorough cleaning of assigned spaces by washing furnishings, tiles, fixtures, and equipment with appropriate germicidal solutions. This includes scrubbing and polishing sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and similar items.
After patient dismissals, you will strip, clean, and make beds with fresh linens, clean other furniture, and dispose of waste by emptying trash receptacles.
Replenish supplies of soap, tissues, towels, and other disposables.Perform sweeping and mopping in specific areas such as patient rooms and hospital offices.
Utilize light vacuuming equipment for carpets, spot clean using suitable solutions, and rearrange furniture and equipment neatly after cleaning.
Carry out extensive floor cleaning and operate buffing machinery.Maintain sanitation equipment through routine cleaning and report any equipment needing repair to your supervisor.
Visually inspect cleaned areas to ensure they meet cleanliness and neatness standards.
Return unused supplies to the utility room, clean service carts and equipment, and ensure proper storage of items.
Execute heavy-duty cleaning tasks for floors and carpets, which may involve using mechanical stripping equipment and carpet shampooing machines.
Wash, scrub, and disinfect walls, windows, and doors, determining the best methods for stain removal using various cleaning tools and supplies.
Collect refuse from multiple locations within the facility and transport it using hand-pushed carts to designated disposal areas, ensuring proper segregation of waste.Assist in moving furniture and equipment as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires the ability to read and comprehend written instructions, along with six to twelve months of relevant work experience and a brief on-the-job training period.
Analytical skills are necessary to read and understand instructions, perform basic arithmetic, and compare numerical and alphabetical data.
You should be able to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions, with occasional interaction with patients and visitors requiring basic courtesy.Position Highlights and Benefits:
