Job Summary
Zachry Group is seeking a skilled Carpenter I to join our team. As a Carpenter I, you will be responsible for constructing, dismantling, and repairing wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms.
Key Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Identify all tools required for tasks and ensure they are in good working condition.
- Identify safety risks and take necessary precautions to eliminate those risks.
- Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
- Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed concrete forms.
- Build and construct wooden forms.
- Work on miscellaneous construction projects, such as building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building additional wooden structures.
- Clean up/housekeeping of work areas.
- Assist other crafts and perform additional job duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must have + years of experience working as a carpenter or civil journeyman in an industrial plant.
- Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
- Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
- Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
- Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
- Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
- Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
- Must be able to lift + lbs.
- Must be able to work over – hours a day.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- National Center for Construction Education and Research's (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
- Formal/Technical education.
- Experience working with concrete and rebar.
Additional Requirements
- Be able to build forms.
- Be able to tie rebar.
- Be able to use a site level.
