Job Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, development, and testing of new and existing fitness equipment products.

You will play a key role in innovating our current market offerings while driving new product development.

This position requires a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of mechanical systems, software engineering, and global manufacturing processes.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Innovation :

Lead the design and development of new and existing fitness products, creating detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) and driving improvements in functionality, performance, and design.


Patent Expertise:
Lead the patenting process for designs, trade dress, and utility/design patents.

Test Protocols & Reporting :

Create, execute, and report on comprehensive test protocols to validate product performance, durability, and safety standards using statistical methods.


Global Manufacturing Oversight:

Manage manufacturing processes on a global scale, with a focus on suppliers in Asia, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.


Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers, fostering innovation and collaboration.

Project Management:
Oversee project timelines and deliverables using project management software like Microsoft Project or similar tools.

Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all products - new and existing - meet rigorous quality control standards before release.

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, to deliver market-leading fitness products and improvements to current offerings.

Miscellaneous projects and other related duties as assigned.

Foster, support, and value diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace.

15+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 10 years in fitness equipment design and development, including experience working on products already in the market.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Strong leadership experience, having managed and led engineering teams.

Extensive experience securing and managing design, trade dress, and utility patents.

Experience managing global manufacturing, particularly with suppliers in Asia.

Proficient in industry-leading tools, including SolidWorks and project management tools such as Microsoft Project.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving mechanical and manufacturing challenges.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

This position requires up to 10% travel, which may include some international travel.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma certifications.
Experience applying software engineering to mechanical systems.
Familiarity with other industry-standard CAD or simulation tools.
Experience with IoT or smart fitness devices is a plus.
