We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment in Madison, Wisconsin.
The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience and hold certifications such as ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.
The MRI Technologist will be responsible for the use of magnetic resonance imaging equipment and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. They will also be responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing MRI imaging.
Key responsibilities include:
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
- Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
- Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
- Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
- Assist radiologist with procedure performance
- Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
- Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
- Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
- Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
