Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Our Pediatric ICU is dedicated to providing advanced medical care for children requiring specialized treatment. Responsibilities of the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) include ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing unit operations during assigned shifts. Collaborating with the management team, this Registered Nurse Supervisor will direct and assess nursing care in line with established protocols, serve as a resource for staff, and embody the organization's mission and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates patient admission and discharge processes to ensure effective care delivery.
  • Engages in ongoing evaluation of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
  • Fosters teamwork among staff to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Promotes a patient-centered approach and addresses service recovery as needed.
  • Implements nursing strategies to enhance staff engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Contributes to the recruitment, training, and development of new staff members.
  • Manages staff scheduling and labor resources in accordance with patient care needs.
  • Oversees inventory management and supply control.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license or compact license accepted.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
  • A minimum of two years of recent PICU RN experience in an acute care setting.
