Key Responsibilities
  • Machining & Programming:
    • Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and GD&T specifications to plan machining tasks.
    • Operate CNC mills by entering instructions, setting tools, offsets, and compensation, and verifying part programs.
    • Interpret and edit G-code programming as needed.
  • Setup & Operation:
    • Set up CNC mills by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, stops, and vices.
    • Load and unload castings and raw materials.
    • Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Monitor drilling, grooving, and cutting processes to ensure adherence to specifications.
    • Perform tool wear offsets and troubleshoot malfunctions to maintain accuracy.
    • Document inspections and maintain process records.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures, using PPE, and following regulations.
    • Utilize and abide by ISO requirements.
  • Maintenance:
    • Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance on CNC equipment.
    • Notify management of malfunctions and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Coordination & Documentation:
    • Communicate actions, irregularities, and job progress across shifts.
    • Plan tooling requirements proactively to minimize downtime.
    • Use scanners for inventory management and product placement.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Update job knowledge through training and educational opportunities.
    • Participate in process enhancements and explore new methods for efficiency.
Requirements
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC 3-axis and 4-axis mills.
    • Familiarity with Haas equipment is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and thread gauges.
    • Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
    • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical instructions, and GD&T specifications.
    • Troubleshooting and tool offset adjustment expertise.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move products up to 50 lbs.
    • Continuous standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
    • Specific vision abilities including close vision, depth perception, and color vision.
    • Comfort working in a moderate to high-noise environment.
