Job Summary

The Chesterfield County Department of Mental Health Support Services is seeking a part-time Staff Psychiatrist to join our team of diverse professionals. As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will work as part of a team to provide diagnostic assessment and treatment, as well as medication follow-ups for assigned cases.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult psychiatry, be licensed to practice in the State of Virginia, and possess a DEA number. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records is required, as well as the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. Prior Community Services Board experience is preferred.

The Staff Psychiatrist will serve a caseload of adults with multiple and complex co-occurring mental health, intellectual disability, and substance use disorder diagnoses. The successful candidate will be expected to join in the departmental mission of excellence in care and training of multi-disciplinary teammates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnostic assessment and treatment for assigned cases
  • Conduct medication follow-ups and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in departmental training and education initiatives

Requirements:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Virginia
  • DEA number
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Prior Community Services Board experience preferred
