Role Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Monitoring Specialist plays a crucial role in the continuous observation of patient cardiac monitors. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing real-time alerts to registered nurses and clinicians regarding any significant changes in cardiac rhythms.
- Analyzing patient data to identify normal heart rhythm patterns, current deviations, and historical changes.
- Collaborating effectively within a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required, along with completion of a monitor technician course or achieving a passing score of 85% on the competency exam.
- Experience: Relevant certifications, such as CRAT, must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Skills: Proficiency in basic computer operations, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to make swift decisions in high-pressure situations are critical.
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
