Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As an Overnight Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical Echocardiogram examinations as requested by physicians, under the supervision of the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echocardiograms as ordered by physicians for patients
  • Conduct scanning procedures using appropriate transducer and settings
  • Select correct accession number for studies to go to PACS/MERGE system
  • Complete studies in PACS/MERGE system
  • Use independent judgment in performing echocardiogram examinations
  • Judge if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
  • Perform efficiently in emergency/crisis situations following established protocols
  • Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical aseptic practices
  • Accept direction from supervisor willingly
  • Foster an environment that promotes teamwork
  • Check supply levels and keep work areas clean
  • Alert supervisor to equipment malfunction
  • Arrive at work station at scheduled time and be prepared to work
  • Attend workshops and seminars to increase knowledge and refine skills
  • Assist physician during trans esophageal echos
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate from an accredited ultrasound school
  • 2+ years of experience preferred
  • ARDMS registered or registry eligible
  • New grads have 1 year from hire to register as a condition of employment
