About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Measurement Specialist to join our Service Team in Novi, MI. This individual will be responsible for all in-house calibration of sensors supporting multiple different business units at Kistler Instrument Corp.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming and outgoing calibrations at all stations in the lab.
  • Analyze schematics and mechanical assembly drawings, test procedures, test setup drawings, and product definitions to troubleshoot calibration problems and interface under the direction of Calibration Lab supervision.
  • Maintain and perform simple repairs of test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Contribute to process improvements by recommending enhancements in test fixtures, test procedures, and product definitions; prepares ECR's and effectively uses bench stock and supplies associated with testing, tools, and equipment.
  • Notify manager of missing or needed supplies, tools, and equipment to ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with Calibration Lab supervision in applying new and updated product specifications from product definitions and procedures into controlled databases and provide input into future Kistler systems including the writing of specifications for developments.
  • Assist Calibration Lab supervision with plans and generating special operating instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in mechanical measurement and electronics is required.
  • Experience with load cell, torque sensor, and accelerometer calibration is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of electronic instrumentation, including the operation of transducers and calibration techniques, is essential.
  • Familiarity with various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, frequency generators, insulation testers, etc., is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently, managing own workload and prioritizing tasks.
  • Authorized to perform analysis of results, including statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations, reports, review, and authorization of results.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, a 401k plan with a 4% company match, and generous personal and vacation time allowances.
