Position Summary:
The Rail Maintenance Technician will assist our Passenger Rail Mechanics in the upkeep and repair of passenger rail cars and locomotives, while also contributing to the maintenance of a tidy and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cleaning, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Support the repair and overhaul processes of passenger railcars and locomotives.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, oil pumps, and overhead cranes (training provided).
  • Maintain the work area through general cleaning and waste disposal activities.
  • Document and unload components and supplies, while managing inventory records.
  • Load outgoing components and parts onto trucks, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • A High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent literacy and reasoning skills) is required.
  • Experience and proficiency with hand tools is advantageous.
  • A positive employment history is essential.
  • Forklift operation experience is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including potential overtime, is expected.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process (background check and drug screening) is required.
  • Adherence to corporate policies, health and safety protocols, and all relevant local, state, and federal regulations is crucial.
