Job Title: Coastal Engineer Research Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Coastal Engineer Research Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for analyzing coastal structure responses and developing probabilistic models to predict coastal flooding and surge.

Salary:$125,678 - $160,001 per annum

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and apply advanced probabilistic models to predict coastal structure responses and associated uncertainties
  • Analyze large datasets and model results to identify potential issues and rapidly address them
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Communicate results concisely to federal and local sponsors through written reports and oral presentations
  • Manage projects and tasks as a Principal Investigator
Requirements:
  • PhD in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in coastal engineering research and analysis
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python programming languages
  • Familiarity with basic GIS functions
  • Strong communication and project management skills
