Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Physics Tutor to provide academic support to students in the Physics department at Morehead State University. The successful candidate will work closely with the faculty laboratory coordinator to deliver a regular set of tutoring hours for students in the PHYS 201, 202, 231, and 232 courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide group and individual tutoring to students during specific days and evening hours in the Physics Student Lounge of Lappin Hall.
  • Work with all PHYS 201/202/231/232 teaching faculty to keep abreast of upcoming exams and provide specific exam review sessions for each course.
  • Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to support student learning and success.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to identify areas of student need and develop targeted support initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
Requirements
  • Student must have completed PHYS 232 or its equivalent.
  • Student must be a current physics major.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students in a tutoring or academic support role.
  • Strong understanding of physics concepts and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
