Microbiology Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our team at Adamson Analytical Laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to microbiology, including media preparation, sample weighing, plating, and counting, as well as maintaining notebooks and other relevant documentation to GDP standards.
Key Responsibilities- Work with the microbiology supervisor to determine priority of samples and perform tasks such as media preparation, sample weighing, plating, and counting.
- Clean and sanitize throughout the Microbiology Laboratory, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Maintain notebooks and other relevant documentation to GDP standards, ensuring accurate and timely recording of laboratory activities.
- Perform routine checks of instruments such as balances, refrigerators, and incubators, ensuring they are functioning properly and accurately.
- Receive and log in reagents, along with certificates of analysis and SDSs, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of laboratory supplies.
- Prepare reports and summarize large amounts of data using Excel, instrument software, and LIMS, providing valuable insights to the laboratory team.
- Properly handle and dispose of laboratory hazardous waste, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- High school diploma (A.S. or B.S. in Biology preferred) and/or related science or experience working in a production laboratory.
- Lab setting experience preferably in a microbiology laboratory, with a good working knowledge of laboratory terminology, biology, bench work, equipment, materials, and techniques/procedures commonly used in a production laboratory.
- Knowledge of LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
We offer a competitive hourly pay rate between $20 to $23, comprehensive and low-cost benefit plans, ample PTO and 40 hours of sick time, and a matching 401k.
