Job Summary:
The Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is seeking a highly skilled Health and Wellness Coach to support health and wellness initiatives through health education and training for employees, groups, providers, and community business partners in their region(s). This role is responsible for providing education and coaching regarding healthy lifestyle practices and chronic health conditions in support of Corporate Health and Wellness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy lifestyle practices and chronic disease prevention.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and group training sessions to employees, groups, and community business partners.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations to develop and implement health promotion programs.
- Conduct health risk assessments and develop personalized wellness plans for employees and community members.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in health education and coaching.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
- Registered Dietitian or Master's degree in a health-related field preferred.
- Experience providing health-related counseling to clients and understanding cultural competencies in addressing targeted populations.
- Strong communication and analytical skills to interpret and assess individuals and provide responses in a tactful, motivational manner.
- Ability to document and organize work product to demonstrate conformance with corporate or regulatory requirements.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel within the state of Mississippi.
