Job Title: Residential Inspector - Energy Efficiency Specialist

Join our team as a Residential Inspector - Energy Efficiency Specialist and play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our customers' homes. As a key member of our team, you will conduct in-home quality assurance inspections of subcontracted work, interacting with homeowners and contractors to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret written and sketched work orders to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Train, direct, and maintain good working relationships with installation crews to ensure high-quality work.
  • Interact with homeowners effectively and diplomatically during site visits and when issues arise.
  • Facilitate on-site work to ensure timely completion and document findings, including digital photos of any problems or discrepancies.
  • Resolve minor deficiencies or customer issues during inspection visits and create and approve change orders as needed.
  • Communicate with the RISE office, homeowners, contractors, municipal building officials, and others in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
  • Obtain homeowner signatures on work completion forms and prepare inspection reports.

Requirements:

  • At least three years of building construction or remodeling experience, including knowledge of carpentry, electrical, or mechanical systems.
  • Experience interacting with customers and contractors, with excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to tactfully avoid conflict and build mutual respect.
  • A commitment to and enthusiasm for energy efficiency.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience installing insulation and air sealing.
  • Building construction or remodeling supervisory experience.
  • BPI Envelope Professional certification.
