Job Title: Travel Nurse - Radiation Oncology RN

Job Summary:

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse - Radiation Oncology RN to join our team. As a Travel Nurse - Radiation Oncology RN, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced radiation oncology team, providing patient education, starting IVs, assisting providers in consults and follow-ups, managing side effects, and coordinating concurrent chemo-radiation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient education and support in a radiation oncology setting
  • Start IVs and administer medications as needed
  • Assist providers in consults and follow-ups
  • Manage side effects and coordinate concurrent chemo-radiation
  • Triage calls and manage in baskets

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in radiation oncology
  • CA License
  • BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)
  • CHEMO cert, OCN, ONS/ONCC preferred
  • Outpatient oncology; Starting IVs; Wound Care skills required

  • Certifications REQUIRED: BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)

  • Skills/Experience REQUIRED: Outpatient oncology; Starting IVs; Wound Care
  • Skills/Experience preferred: Radiation Oncology; Care of Patients with various types of cancer (Bladder/Kidney Cancer, Brain cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Ear/Nose/Throat Cancers, Kidney Cancer, Liver Cancer, Lung cancer, Melanoma, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Ovarian Cancer/Uterine Cancer, Prostate Cancer); Medications (Antiemetic, Antitumor, Antibiotic, Corticosteroids, Neupogen, Hormonal therapy); Oncologic Emergencies (Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Anaphylaxis, Hemorrhage, Sepsis, Spinal Cord Compression); IV push narcotic agents; Medication tolerance/dependence assessment; PCA pump management; Transdermal patches; Neutropenic precautions; Advanced directives; Hospice care; Patient/Family education and support; Withholding/withdrawing treatment; Radiation Therapy (External Radiation therapy (Teletherapy), Radiation safety precautions, Total Body Irradiation (TBI), Wound care); Symptom Management (Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy); Post surgical care
