Objective:
This role is responsible for leading communication and marketing initiatives utilizing diverse design and publication channels to educate and promote the efforts of Lincoln University College of Agriculture, Human and Environmental Sciences (LUCAHES). The individual will oversee content strategy and delegate tasks to the Communications team while ensuring adherence to the Lincoln University Brand Guide. Additionally, this position involves active community engagement and networking to foster relationships that enhance outreach and impact. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Authorize visual and written materials for fact sheets, guide sheets, promotional flyers, social media content, newsletters, invitations, agendas, event programs, and other communication assets.
- Develop and manage an editorial calendar and content project plans that align with the mission and goals of LUCAHES.
- Collaborate with agencies and community partners to broaden outreach and improve effectiveness.
- Oversee the management of the website and social media platforms, utilizing metrics and analytical tools to enhance reach and impact.
- Administer organizational software and task management tools.
- Provide mentorship to the Communications team and identify opportunities for professional development.
- Act as the liaison between CAEHS and UMR.
- Stay informed on current industry trends and topics to ensure effective communication strategies.
- Support special projects and events as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and university reporting obligations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be proactive.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and relevant design software.
- Experience with DSLR cameras and basic editing software, with the capability to maintain equipment and upload images to cloud storage and group sharing platforms.
- Strong familiarity with office equipment such as printers, scanners, and telecommunication devices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Certifications and Licenses:
- A valid driver's license is required.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, English, or communications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience related to the specified duties and responsibilities, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA style) and Associated Press (AP style).
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
- Extended periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- This position may require occasional travel and evening or weekend work.
