Responsibilities

As a Medical Nutrition Specialist, you will provide medical nutrition therapy to patients with medical conditions requiring dietary modification. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assessing patient education needs and developing individualized education plans
  2. Providing initial and follow-up consultations for diabetes patients and others requiring dietary modifications
  3. Teaching diabetes diet principles, disease process, and treatment in group and individual sessions
  4. Evaluating and developing teaching tools for use in education activities
  5. Assisting patients with setting goals to achieve optimal diabetes self-management and monitoring patient outcomes
  6. Communicating with healthcare team members regarding patient education and outcomes
  7. Participating in departmental continuous quality improvement projects, including patient chart reviews

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BS degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Registered Dietitian certification
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred

Pay Range

$22.89 - $33.20/hour
