Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credential Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of medical staff applications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Manage the entire credentialing process for all medical staff applicants, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collect, verify, and process all required documentation, including applications, licenses, certifications, and references.
- Conduct primary source verification of credentials and track the status of all applications.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete credentialing files.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Joint Commission.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the credentialing database.
- Generate reports and analyze data related to credentialing activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with applicants, medical staff, and other departments.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of two years Medical Staff experience, including credentialing functions in either a hospital or managed care environment.
- Strong computer and information management skills required.
- Microsoft Word, Access, and other Medical Staff Software preferred.
- CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) preferred.
