Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credential Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of medical staff applications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire credentialing process for all medical staff applicants, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collect, verify, and process all required documentation, including applications, licenses, certifications, and references.
  • Conduct primary source verification of credentials and track the status of all applications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete credentialing files.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Joint Commission.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the credentialing database.
  • Generate reports and analyze data related to credentialing activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants, medical staff, and other departments.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of two years Medical Staff experience, including credentialing functions in either a hospital or managed care environment.
  • Strong computer and information management skills required.
  • Microsoft Word, Access, and other Medical Staff Software preferred.
  • CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) preferred.
