POSITION:
Custodial Staff Member
OVERVIEW:
This role is essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment within the educational facilities. The individual will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure that all areas are well-kept and hygienic.
SUPERVISION:
The position operates under the direct oversight of the Principal and the Head Custodian, along with guidance from the Supervisor of Custodial Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure cleanliness of designated areas, which includes sweeping, dusting, waxing, and buffing floors, as well as emptying waste bins and cleaning blackboards.
2. Assist with the handling of incoming and outgoing parcels or freight.
3. Participate in thorough cleaning of the entire facility during scheduled breaks or as directed by the Head Custodian.
4. Maintain outdoor areas including lawns and walkways as instructed.
5. Contribute to the overall security of the facility during regular working hours.
6. Clean kitchen vents as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess the ability to perform assigned tasks effectively. A good moral character is essential. Candidates should be able to read and follow written instructions and be comfortable working in the presence of children. Physical capability to work at heights, such as on bleachers, is also required.
SALARY:
Compensation will be determined in accordance with the Master Agreement. The organization reserves the right to select the candidate deemed most suitable for this role, ensuring the greatest benefit to the educational environment.
