Job Overview

Our bustling dining establishment is in search of a meticulous individual with outstanding time management skills who is dedicated to delivering an exceptional culinary experience. As a Culinary Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that each dish is prepared and presented according to established recipes, presentation standards, and with precision for the guest's order.

We seek an experienced culinary professional who is adept in various cooking methods, including poaching, braising, roasting, charbroiling, sautéing, grilling, frying, and baking. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member who can effectively communicate with fellow kitchen staff to maintain a smooth operation.

Compensation:

$16 - $20 hourly

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food orders at designated stations by adhering to established recipes and presentation standards for grilling, broiling, and sautéing menu items.
  • Exhibit a professional and friendly attitude when interacting with guests, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Ensure the quality of food by following specified storage and waste management protocols for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all workstations, counters, cooking equipment, and refrigeration units in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Organize food stations and stock them with all necessary ingredients for the shift.
  • Punctually arrive and be prepared to work.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, waitstaff, and management.
  • Stay informed about the dining room activities (e.g., arrival of large parties).
  • Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Report issues and suggestions to management.
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Label and date all products used.
  • Follow management's instructions and recommendations.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in food service is preferred.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and team members.
  • Must comply with all safety and sanitation standards for kitchen equipment and food storage.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate is required.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • One year of cooking experience and/or recent Culinary Arts graduate.
  • Proficient knife skills.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles.
  • Basic culinary knowledge.
