Project Controls Manager Job Description

Tri-City Electric Co. is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Manager to join our team in Des Moines, IA. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, resource forecasts, and risk registers to ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Compile and analyze project financial data, including planned spend, actual spend, estimate to complete, and budget trends.
  • Facilitate monthly project controls meetings with key project personnel to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks on project expenses and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and manage change orders, including negotiation and approval processes.
  • Collaborate with project leads and managers to provide resource level staff planning data and commercial reviews of financial impacts of project change orders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in project management or project controls.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, tact, and consideration, with the ability to problem solve and meet deadlines.

This is a full-time salary position with a standard Monday-Friday schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and reference check. Tri-City Electric Co. is an equal opportunity employer.
