Job Summary and Qualifications

Work Schedule:

Patient Demographics:
Patients experiencing various stages of renal disease, including Chronic Kidney Disease, Acute Renal Failure, and End-Stage Renal Disease requiring dialysis.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit/department during their designated shift.

In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to support exceptional patient experiences and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Participate in ongoing assessments of the quality of care provided in the unit, collaborating with the management team.
- Work with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that promotes improved outcomes and service.
- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed.
- Support facility engagement efforts by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly checks.
- Provide input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Recommend and implement actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor aspects in line with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
- Support inventory management and assist with supplies and equipment management.

Qualifications Required:

Experience:
- Minimum of one year of RN or relevant experience.

Preferred Experience:
- One year of hospital experience.

Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion of a BSN within five years of hire.
- Grandfathering accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions may be approved by the facility CNO.

Preferred Education:
- Master's Degree in Nursing.

Licensure:
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.

Certification:
- BLS certification required.
