We are in search of a seasoned and proactive Senior Tax Manager to enhance our global tax operations.
This position is crucial for ensuring the precise and timely calculation and reporting of all tax-related financial data, adhering to SEC, ASC 740, and other regulatory standards.
The Senior Tax Manager will play a vital role in expanding Confluent's global tax compliance and operations.The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience as a tax professional, with a minimum of 7 years in large multinational publicly traded firms (Big 4 experience is advantageous), exceptional interpersonal skills, and the capability to engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
Experience in a Big 4 firm and/or within an enterprise software environment is a plus.This role is eligible for remote work and will report directly to the VP of Tax.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the quarterly and annual income tax provision process in compliance with ASC 740, including UTP documentation, relevant tax footnotes, and disclosures in the Company's SEC filings.
Manage the Company's compliance obligations, including the consolidated US federal income tax return, as well as US international and state and local tax returns.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, and Treasury on all tax-related issues and financial reporting.Assist in managing indirect taxes, such as sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and other transaction-based taxes.
Work with external auditors to ensure compliant income tax reporting and efficient financial statement closing and SOX control processes.
Participate in special projects, including tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, provision forecasting, corporate initiatives, and identifying process efficiencies.
Qualifications:
7 years of experience in tax operations, with a background in Big 4 and publicly held multinational corporations preferred.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, along with a professional designation such as CPA or MST.
Experience in an enterprise software or SaaS environment is advantageous.
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax operations, standards, and governance.
In-depth understanding of ASC 740 and other pertinent accounting standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to research complex tax issues and propose effective solutions.Strategic thinker with robust leadership capabilities and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
