Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement

  • Conducts respectful removals or transfers in accordance with company protocols, ensuring the dignity of the deceased.
  • Welcomes bereaved families and guides them through the Arrangements Conference, assessing their needs and discussing available services and benefits.
  • Facilitates the transition to a Funeral Services Counselor for further discussions on cemetery options and service contracts.
  • Reviews and approves any changes to merchandise and service agreements.

Service Direction

  • Confirms service arrangements and acts as Master of Ceremonies for visitations, funerals, or graveside services, maintaining a professional and caring demeanor.
  • Oversees the presentation of the deceased, ensuring all arrangements meet contractual obligations and family expectations.
  • Engages with families to fulfill their wishes while identifying opportunities for pre-need services.

Event Coordination

  • Handles various event planning tasks, including resource allocation and procurement of music, floral arrangements, and catering services.
  • Creates memorial products, such as photo displays and online tributes, to honor the deceased.
  • Prepares the event space and ensures proper cleanup and storage of items post-event.
  • May assist with various roles during services, including ushering and transportation duties.

General Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicates with management regarding assignments and seeks guidance when necessary.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to new processes and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Education & Licenses

  • Graduation from an accredited mortuary science program.
  • Possession of a valid Funeral Director license in the respective state.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Experience

  • Previous experience in the funeral industry is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Results-driven with a focus on overcoming challenges and maintaining project momentum.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated with a commitment to professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trust-based relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Proficient in database management and MS Office applications.

Work Environment

  • Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, accommodating various weather conditions.
  • Professional attire is required when interacting with families.
  • Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as well as the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 150 pounds.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as services may occur outside standard business hours.
