The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of estimating for commercial, residential, and multi-family construction projects, ensuring accuracy from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the project team during the preconstruction phase to create and refine estimates.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements thoroughly.
  • Conduct precise quantity takeoffs and assess material costs.
  • Facilitate subcontractor solicitations and site visits as necessary.
  • Evaluate labor and equipment costs associated with construction.
  • Adhere to proposal and bid timelines effectively.
  • Assess and compare competitive trade bids.
  • Review initial quotes and pre-bid estimates diligently.
  • Gather all necessary bid documentation, including forms and quote letters.
  • Compile subcontractor bid lists and distribute drawings to subcontractors.
  • Engage in bid compilation on the designated bid day.
  • Support job site personnel with estimates post-bid award.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in using complex spreadsheets, database software, and on-screen takeoff tools.
  • Strong conceptual estimating capabilities.
  • Ability to conduct thorough and professional reviews of estimates with clients.
  • Solid foundation in historical pricing knowledge.
  • Proven ability to lead lump sum bid pursuits.
  • Familiarity with the local subcontractor landscape and various trades.
  • Experience in design-build projects is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of 5-D estimating practices.
  • Proficient in various estimating software applications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
