Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team at Southeast Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of medical equipment, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional service to patients and hospital personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on biomedical equipment, including adjustments and calibrations, to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of diagnostic, therapeutic, and clinical equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and hospital policies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations, using manufacturer's manuals as reference.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex medical equipment, including TV's, pneumatic tube systems, and nurse-call systems, to minimize inconvenience to patients and hospital personnel.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of facility communication equipment, following manufacturer specifications and hospital policies.
  • Coordinate the inventory of parts for routine maintenance and emergency repairs, using manufacturer's service manuals as reference.
  • Rotate on-call duties with Biomedical Technicians to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent training.
  • General computer knowledge and ability to utilize the Internet and extranet.
  • Valid drivers' license.
  • Ability to work on-call, weekends, nights, and days.
Language/Communication Skills
  • Ability to utilize radio and paging systems.
Skills
  • Perform adjustments and calibrations to biomedical equipment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records on each piece of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and/or repair complex medical equipment.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of facility communication equipment.
  • Coordinate inventory of parts for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
